VW Thing - Resto German Military Version - So Nice

This is a 1978 German Military Type 181 (registered as 1975) in Tornado Red (an 7.5/10).

It was imported from Germany in the early 2000s and restored.

These have the special Euro only taillights (unlike the canned ham type in the US.) It has no size vent ports so it looks like a 1973 in the US. Also has the rotary headlight switch. And oil temp and pressure gauges.

Top, frame, interior and upholstery are in excellent and are all near perfect. Most of the chrome is great but some is starting to show some bits of wear but it's not too late.

Custom 5 point roll bar and custom seatbelts.

Has a new 1837cc engine with under 5000 miles on it. Perfect dual exhaust mufflers exiting the rear bumpers..

Even has customized speedo.

Has working Eberspacher motor fully restored and running with all parts and ports.

Lots of accessories including glover compartment cover, all 4 door panel covers, center console. EMPI Hurst Style Shifter with custom red 8-ball knob.

All side curtains are perfect and snap into place. They come with a set of custom windows cozies.

Spare tire and tire cover. Tires are OG, but they are okay.

And an under the dash wicker shelf. Original jack and tools. Manuals. Also, will come with a car cover.

There is also a ton of spare NOS, OEM and used parts and accessories and practically a whole extra Eberspacher heater. And a deep oil sump.

The works.

You will be an instant VW Thing guru in a box and you will turn heads and gave tons of waves and attention every time you drive it.
